Verizon finally to offer iPhone?
Ivan Seidenberg, the CEO of Verizon reportedly formally asked Apple for the rights to distribute and support the extremely successful iPhone platform.
The fact that Verizon wants the iPhone isn’t particularly new; we’ve heard rumors of that for well over a year, and Verizon even said last year that AT&T’s exclusivity contract with the iPhone would end in 2010 and Verizon would pick it up.
The Wall Street Journal reported that Apple was already creating a version of the iPhone for the Verizon network, although he did not confirm if the report was correct. He also did not give any information about when customers can expect to see an iPhone on the Verizon network.
Until then… back to waiting.
