The New iPad – Epic FAIL!
Coming Soon, an over-grown iPhone3G with a major flaw.
Apple introduced its latest crowing achievement last week to an underwhelming response. The new iPad has nearly all the functionality of an iPhone3G without the convenient size.
What CAN it do?
Everything you can do with an Iphone, except make calls and fit in your pocket.
What CAN’T it do?
Run Flash applications that nearly the entire internet relies on… like playing YouTube videos, or watching most animations on the web.
It’s also can’t make calls or butter your toast.
Apple cites the lack of a Flash player on it’s drain on battery life and it’s hope that the web will adopt the new HTML5 standard (in 2012). Actually, Apple is avoiding Flash to force you to view and buy media in proprietary formats from iTunes and the App Store.
If your Apple device had swappable batteries, Apple wouldn’t be able to cite battery drain as an excuse. I was actually interested in buying an iPad until I learned of the omission of Flash from the device. No swappable batteries is already an issue for iPhone owners whose iPhone battery has died. All other phone manufacturers allow you to just swap in replacement batteries which you can buy on Ebay for $10. While you can buy a replacement battery on Ebay for an iPhone, it still won’t work because “AppleTalk” in the battery tells the handset that it isn’t the original battery. Why? For the love of Steve Jobs, why?
It’s also can’t make calls or butter your toast.
So to avoid battery issues, Apple’s decision is to eliminate Flash? Great thinking! I think I’ll pass.
