Customer Service?

Ok, so today I went to Brent’s Deli for the last time.  There was one customer ahead of me when I went to pick-up my to-go order.  Three girls were trying to help the one customer who got the wrong check.  I stood there holding my daughter for 5 minutes without being acknowledged by anyone, even though the other three people behind the counter were not helping anyone.  After being very patient, the girl at the register continued to ignore me after the person ahead of me left [I was standing 2 feet from the cashier] when she took the check and credit card of a guy who walked right up next to me and began to ring him up.  I said, “excuse me, I was waiting here for five minutes.”  The customer apologized, but the girls said nothing as she continued to finish the transaction.   I asked if I could get my order and the cashier was rude as she got it.  I asked to speak to the owner who was standing right there.  As I began to explain my issue, he walked away from me! As I asked again to express my concern for the bad service, he again walked away.  I loudly [as if I ever do anything quietly] announced that I never have this problem at Country Deli in Chatsworth and exited.

Have you had bad service somewhere?  Tell us about it!

Ok so I have been once and will never go again to Carrabba’s (http://www.carrabbas.com/index.aspx) in Chandler, AZ. We sat down immediately and it took forever for the waitress to come over to order drinks. Then when we ordered water to start she was not happy. I ordered a soup special and it was tasteless, so I returned for another. And the waitress took it personally and appeared to be put out. Then when my Mezzaluna (chicken ravioli) arrived they too were tasteless. When she asked and I told her it was ok, she was disinterested and walked away. I would normally say something but I was with friends I had not seen for a long time, so we paid and left. On the way out the hostess told us she hoped to see us soon, and I told her she would never see us again, and did nothing to try and win back our service. This is just a bad version of Macaroni Grille and you should just stay away from it.

Wow Mark! That’s pretty bad. I think I would’ve said the same thing. Can’t believe the OWNER walked away from you! (welcome to the blogging world). :-)

My son who is now 17 worked there for 1 1/2 years and just recently quit.
He was expecting a year end bonus (nothing big-maybe $50 or $100). He never got one and no explanation until he asked why-he was told that he made a wise-crack at an employee meeting 6+ months earlier and they made a note of it and put him on the shit list. He was so bummed that he finished his shift and politely told them that was not the way to treat an employee-all he wanted was a little recognition for his work. I believe Brent’s owner(s) take for granted that they have a thriving business and that employee appreciation and customer service is what can make or break any business.
Needless to say my immediate family which makes up 20+ will no longer be patronizing Brent’s.

Oh Mark, that sucks! I love it there. I guess I need a new favorite deli.
